The original catalog of Great White North Records is currently not in print and not public domain, any original Great White North Records albums released on public domain in the future will be listed here.

Since the early 1990's many labels and distributors have changed and closed over the years and many heavy metal albums may be in public domain, this page is to catalog domestic and import releases to Canada that have appeared on or were original circulated in Canada by Great White North Records.

Many albums are pressed under different label names and from various countries with an unorganized list, this list includes albums and labels that were distributed by Great White North Records in Canada http://www.gwnrecords.com that have been closed since then (early / late 1990's) but new versions on Digital, Compact Disc and LP for future release under Forward Regression Records Halifax, Canada http://www.forwardregression.com that are distributed from Montreal, Canada under the name Great White North Records that are now in pubic domain.

Since many albums were pressed in different countries under different names and distributors only some are represented here, as the promotional office and distributor for new future versions.

Great White North Records launched in the late 1990's to carry the labels / albums / distributors listed here in Canada, plus their own catalog and then closed in Spring 2006 after the release of "Collapse - Destroying By Design" but was continued from Halifax under Collapse / Forward Regression Records and now being promoted along with several other label names from Montreal, Canada under Great White North Records Montreal Promotional Office http://www.gwnrecords.com for past reissues some in public domain a well as unreleased albums, including unreleased Collapse catalog 2001 - 2023 current, and future new releases.

Follow the re-started url http://www.gwnrecords.com for the current promotional office in Montreal, Canada for current carried labels / distributors carried on Great White North Records, some re-activated old labels / distributors and some new ones for domestic and import titles on Digital / CD / LP that are promoted by Great White North Records in Canada , the new current re-started label / distributor which is a new record label launch under http://www.gwnrecords.com that is also carrying reissued past albums and some re-started label names as well as new titles on the various names / distributors listed here.

Many titles will be released on Digital first then compact disc with a new current updated catalog numbering system with public domain album versions on Great White North Records as well as new future domestic and import titles.

Great White North Records purchased / restarted by Jason MacKenzie ( www.collapse.band ) Halifax / Montreal to continue with original label name for "Collapse - Destroying By Design" previously on The End Records / Sonic Unyon after the closure of the Montreal Office, Great White North Records was dropped from "Profusion Metal Store" and closed in 2006 and domestic CD versions not released.

The label switched to "Great White North Maritimes" in 2006 (Collapse) and then later closed, this promotion was continued on Forward Regression Records Halifax to release Collapse and other artists were released from label.

The original Great White North Records url www.gwnrecords.com appearing on all Great White North Records CD Releases for The End Records (BMG Rights Management current) / Sonic Unyon was purchased to continue with the original planned launch for domestic CD releases in Canada.

Great White North Records originally planned to release it's domestic album releases through The End Records (BMG Rights Management) and Sonic Unyon in Canada for record store chains like Urban Sound Exchange www.urbansoundexchange.com and CD Plus which closed shortly after their online shopping system was launched and only carried Black Metal as a "Domectic Import CD" from metal distributors. Great White North Records releases were supposed to be the launch of Black Metal for local domestic release in Canada at chains like CD Plus.

The new Great White North Records is owned by Forward Regression Records (Collapse) Jason MacKenzie to continue with the original concept launch for local domestic Black Metal releases in Canada since the other labels and distributors have closed, albums are now unavailable except Collapse and The End Records is now owned by BMG Rights Management.

The label Great White North Records released Heavy Metal / Death Metal and the sub labels De Mysteriis Records and Grind It! Records carried Black Metal and Grindcore.

I believe this was originally promoted in Montreal in Qui Magazine (?) for promotions in Montreal and France for domestic album releases.

New releases planned for domestic release in Canada including Black Metal on De Mysteriis Records, not yet released in Canada as well as Public Domain Reissues and Poster Prints for Public Domain Movies and Heavy Metal albums for domestic release in Canada as well as new re-mastered versions of public domain albums at a later date, new original domestic release albums also now planned for release in Canada on the new Great White North Records label owed by Jason Mackenzie from Forward Regression Records / Collapse.
